The va’a or Polynesian canoe is a famous traditional sport in French Polynesia. Traditionally used for navigation or fishing, it has become an emblematic sport where the aito (warriors) measure themselves by their courage, their strength and their tenacity.

For me, it is the symbol of freedom and travel, and also a way to connect and be one with the natural elements and the ocean. It’s also an opportunity to go beyond your limits and be brave on the water and in life.
